WRESTLERS POISED TO MAKE THEIR MARK AT AMCC CHAMPIONSHIPS

Malenfant (184) took the top spot in the 184 bracket at the John Summa Invitational, as he went 5-0 on the day with five first round falls. He took down Caiden Hooks (Ott) in :44, Brayden Kobylinski (MU) in 1:11, Kodi Pfeiffer (CWRU) in 1:29, Mathew Gummere (CWRU) in 2:04, and Aiden Helmke (ONU) in 2:11.

Trimber (141) went 3-1 on the week, including a team-best second-place finish at Lycoming's Rennie Rodarmel All State Invitational on Sunday. Trimber got his hand raised with a forfeit in a 53-5 dual victory over Keystone College on Saturday. He posted two falls to reach the Rennie Rodarmel Invitational finals on Sunday. After finding himself down 8-2 heading into the third period in his first match, Trimber used a six-point move to tie the match before putting his first opponent away in 6:48. In the semis, Trimber decked his Utica opponent at the end of the first period before falling to Misericordia's Marston by a score of 14-4 to take silver.

Ware (141) recorded four bonus-point victories, a Division II victory and a ranked win en route to the 141-pound title at Elizabethtown's D. Kenneth Ober Memorial Invitational on Saturday. In his first action back since injury, Ware started his day with a first-period fall and a first-period tech fall to reach the semifinals where he won by a 10-2 major decision against Shippensburg's Cole Coffin. In the finals, Ware topped Eastern's Region 3 fourth-ranked Ryan Mansueto, by a 17-6 major decision.

D.J. Slovick, Pitt-Bradford, Men's Wrestling

Slovick (174) reached a career milestone on Saturday, as he became the first wrestler in program history to reach 100 career victories. In a dual with Slippery Rock, Slovick pinned his opponent in 3:30 to earn win number 100 and pin number 52.

Malenfant (184) went 4-0 at the AMCC Duals, as he tallied two fall victories over Cole Shupp (Penn) and Louie DeJulia (PSU Behrend). With his wins on the day, Malenfant became the new career wins leader in Alfred State program history, as he surpassed 119 career wins.

Johnson (285) took second place in the 285 bracket at the Williams Open. He opened the day with four wins, two falls and two decision wins to earn a spot in the championship match. He took down Jack Disharoon (EMC) and Nick Aldino (Cortland) by fall, and Jon Lettre (USM) and Christian Quandt (SPFD) in decisions. Then in the championship match he suffered a 7-4 overtime decision loss to Rory Nolan (NU) for second place.
